Dr. Macintyre graduated from the University of Toronto, Ontario with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974. He then received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario in 1978. He completed a two-year Fellowship in primary care sports medicine in 1985, and his Masters of Physical Education in exercise physiology and sports science in 1986 at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C.
